I grew up in Seagrove with my parents and four younger siblings. I was always very passionate about art from a young age. Yes, that is a photo of me working in my mom's pottery shop to the right! I credit her with sparking my passion for the arts. She was always supportive of me in everything I did and I spent most of my childhood drawing and playing in clay. My art teachers in school always played a fundamental role in my life. As I grew older, I decided I wanted to teach art and pass my enthusiasm and knowledge on to my very own students.

I graduated from North Moore High School in Robbins, NC in 2009. I obtained my associates degree from Randolph Community College in 2011 and completed my BA in Art Education at Greensboro College in December 2013. I taught K-5 art at Lindley Park from January 2014 to June 2016. I then moved to teaching K-8 Art at Highfalls Elementary where I have been teaching ever since. I love the challenge of teaching kindergarten all the way through 8th grade!

In September 2018 I married my husband, who has been my best friend since high school. He is currently an attorney in Moore County. We now reside in Carthage with our 3 rescued cats Simba, Spike, and Salem.
